Rep. Eric Swalwell Threatened After Argument With Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene On Twitter

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-California) received a threatening voicemail after his recent Twitter war with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia).

The voicemail began by calling the representative a slur and went on to call out his supposed relationship with a Chinese spy.

“We’re coming to your house this weekend and we’re going to get you and those little mutant bastards, those little mutant children of yours, we’re going to get you,” the man said.

On the Twitter post, Swalwell blamed Greene for the threat, citing that Greene’s “constant” attacks kindle political violence against Democratic politicians.

“Marjorie loves to play the victim,” Swalwell wrote. “But she’s an inciter of violence. Her constant attacks — even after the FBI said I was never suspected of wrongdoing — lead to threatening calls like this. This caller from today threatened to kill my three children.”

Previously, the two representatives began trading jabs after Swalwell posted an interaction he had with a tourist at the Capitol on Twitter.

Swalwell wrote, “Today I gave a tour in the Capitol and was stopped by a father with his young boy. The father yelled at me, ‘Hey Swalwell,’ and then told his son, ‘That’s Swalwell. He’s trouble. He doesn’t back Trump,'” Swalwell said. “I kept walking and felt sad for the boy. He’s being raised in a cult family.”

Greene replied by bringing up a false rumor that Swalwell had sex with a Chinese spy.

“No way that happened,” Greene wrote. “Because we all know good Trump-supporting fathers would say, ‘that’s the Democrat who had sex with a Chinese spy.'”
