Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio pleaded with a judge on Monday to reduce his jail sentence from five months to 90 days.
Tarrio, who was sentenced after burning a Black Lives Matter flag taken from a historic Black church in December, told D.C. Superior Court Judge Jonathan Pittman: “I’ve been to jail before and what I’ve seen here, I’ve never seen anywhere else. This place needs to be shut down immediately.”
Tarrio claims he has been abused by guards and subjected to medical neglect during his incarceration at D.C.’s Central Detention Facility (CDF).
Tarrio testified: “I’m deathly afraid that something is going to happen to me.”
