Pence Seeks To Raise $18 Million For Potential 2024 Run

Former Vice President Mike Pence is reportedly speeding up fundraising through his political advocacy group ahead of his possible 2024 presidential run.

The former vice president’s non-profit group, Advancing American Freedom (AAF), aims to raise $18 million within its first 12 months.

AAF, which launched in April, is run by former White House staff and Pence’s close allies. The former vice president has also been busy adding staffers for his new office in Washington.

Pence is estranged from most of his former Republican supporters after he certified the electoral votes for President Joe Biden‘s 2020 win, while then-President Donald Trump tried to force him to object to the count.

Earlier this week, it was reported that former Vice President Dan Quayle advised Pence not to try overturning the results at that time.

“Mike, you have no flexibility on this. None. Zero. Forget it. Put it away,” Quayle told Pence at that time, according to a forthcoming book called Peril.

Trump has also reportedly started his search for his vice presidential running mate for the 2024 run. Although the former president still hasn’t made his official announcement on his bid, it is almost certain that Pence will not be considered for the position again.

As the former vice president is looking closer to making a White House bid, his associate has also made it clear that Trump’s move will not affect his decision.

“Mike is going to look at this and say, ‘Where am I being called to serve?’ ” said one of Pence’s associates told CNN. “That’s not going to be thwarted by any man or woman. If he feels called to do this, it’s not going to be because of who else is in the race.”
