Paul Igrassia, New Department Of Homeland Security Official, Called For ‘Martial Law’ After Trump’s Loss In 2020 Election

The Trump administration tapped Paul Igrassia, a 29-year-old lawyer, as its point man to the Department of Homeland Security, acting as a liaison between the White House and DHS. After President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, Ingrassia called for “martial law” to keep him in power.

Ingrassia held a position similar to that of the Justice Department before being pushed out after clashes with the department’s chief of staff. According to ABC News, while at DOJ, Ingrassia had pushed for only hiring candidates who display “exceptional loyalty” to the president.

Before his role in government, his comments on Twitter (now X) and the podcast he co-hosted with his sister echoed sentiments of extreme election denial. Following Trump’s defeat in 2020, he took to Twitter urging “secession” if courts ruled against Trump’s election fraud lawsuits. Ingrassia made numerous other posts, calling followers to “support martial law.”

“Time for @realDonaldTrump to declare martial law and secure his re-election! It’s the only way,” Ignassia posted to an official account for his podcast, Right on Point. Another post claimed Trump had a “moral imperative” to ensure election security and called for a military-run re-vote in key battleground states where he had challenged the results and suggested the president “should use his emergency powers to postpone Inauguration Day.”

The podcast’s Twitter account also posted a quote from President John F. Kennedy on the night of Jan. 6, 2021, reading, “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, [will] make violent revolution inevitable.”

Ingrassia was present for the release of prisoners convicted of crimes for the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol after they were pardoned by Trump.
