In June, Patricia and Mark McCloskey aimed guns towards Black Lives Matter protesters as they walked outside of their home on route to the home of St. Louis mayor’s home. On Wednesday, the couple was indicted on weapons and tampering with evidence charges.
Their attorney, Joel Schwartz, stated that their indictments will not be unsealed until next Wednesday.
The McCloskeys captured the nation’s attention when videos of them holding guns towards protesters standing outside their mansion went viral. These protesters were on their way to Mayor Lyda Krewson‘s home, nearby the McCloskey’s, after she decided to publish names and addresses of citizens who supported police reform.
They were initially charged in July with unlawful use of a weapon. Mark McCloskey told CNN in July that he was “in imminent fear (the protestors) would run me over, kill me.” The White House and Missouri Gov. Mike Parson (R) have defended the couple, who spoke at August’s Republican National Convention.

According to White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, President Donald Trump “said it is absolutely absurd,” that the McCloskeys were facing charges.
Parson also said in July that the couple should not have to face charges, as “they had every right to protect themselves,” and said he would pardon them if convicted.
