Former President Barack Obama rapped the Eminem song “Lose Yourself” after the musician introduced him onstage at a campaign rally for Kamala Harris.
“I’m here tonight for a couple of important reasons,” Eminem stated during the event. “As most of you know, the city of Detroit and the whole state of Michigan mean a lot to me, and going into this election, the spotlight is on us more than ever, and I think it’s important to use your voice, so I’m encouraging everybody to get out and vote please.”
“I also still think that people shouldn’t be afraid to express their opinions, and I don’t think anyone wants an America where people are worried about the retribution of what people will do if you make your opinion known,” he added.
“I think Vice President Harris supports a future for this country where these freedoms and many others will be protected and upheld,” the rapper declared.

“And here to tell you much more about that, President Barack Obama,” he stated before the crowd began applauding.
Obama walked onstage while “Lose Yourself” began playing on the speakers.
“I have done a lot of rallies, so I don’t usually get nervous,” he told the crowd. “But I was feeling some kind of way following Eminem.”
He then began reciting the lyrics to Eminem’s song.
“I notice my palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms heavy, vomit on my sweater already, Mom’s spaghetti,” he rapped as the audience cheered and applauded him. I’m nervous, but on the surface, I look calm and ready to drop bombs, but I keep on forgetting.”
The former president then ended by singing song’s the intro music.
“I thought Eminem was going to be performing,” Obama shared. “I was going to jump out.”
“Love – love me some Eminem,” he said.
During an episode of the Smartless podcast in May, Obama slammed Donald Trump, saying that “nobody in New York who does business with him lends him money” and that he is “not considered a serious guy here.”
