Texts between members of the far-right Oath Keepers group show that they discussed security detail for allies of former President Donald Trump, according to newly released court documents.
The Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes announced in a group message that there were numerous members of Trump’s inner circle that would need protection on January 5 and 6, 2021, which was the day before and day of the Capitol attack. The members discussed providing security for far-right Infowars host Alex Jones, Trump’s national security adviser Michael Flynn, Stop the Steal rally organizer Ali Alexander and others.
At the time of the texts, the group had already provided security for Jones once before, which Rhodes called “a great feather in our cap.”
“We worked superbly will with both Alex Jones security team (who are awesome guys) and with Praetorian Guard (also awesome veterans — led by SF and SEAL veterans). They LOVE working with us because of our legit ‘quiet professional’ demeanor and skillsets,” he added.

The texts were released by Ed Vallejo, who is facing charges for seditious conspiracy in an effort to get out of pretrial detention.
Rhodes is also currently facing seditious conspiracy charges, though he adamantly denies that he did anything unlawful. His lawyer has said he’s willing to discuss the newfound information with prosecutors.
