New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) slammed Black Lives Matter supporters after an especially violent night in the city last Wednesday.
“Here is my question that I put out to the city: I thought Black lives mattered. Where are all those who stated Black lives matter?” the mayor said on NY1. “Then go do an analysis of who was killed or shot last night. I was up all night speaking to my commanders in the Bronx and Brooklyn. The victims were Black. Many of the shooters were Black.”
“Why are 16, 17, 18-year-olds out on our streets armed with guns at 12:00 or 1:00 a.m.?” he added.
Three people were killed and 13 others were injured in shootings in Brooklyn and the Bronx in a six-hour span, according to police reports.

As a former cop, Adams has made cracking down on violence a focus of his campaign and his administration, but NYPD statistics say that crime is up 44 percent from this time last year.
The mayor tested positive for COVID-19 last week and has been quarantined at Gracie Mansion on doctor’s orders, which kept him from being at the 36th Street Station after last week’s subway shooting in Brooklyn, control centers and other crime scenes.
