Trump Cancels Outdoor Rally In Tulsa Due To Low Turnout

President Donald Trump canceled a previously planned outdoor speech Saturday at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, due to the low turnout.

His campaign initially expected an “overflow crowd” as Trump proudly bragged that more than one million people had RSVP-ed, only to find out that the actual turnout couldn’t even fill the 19,000-seat arena.

Prior to the cancelation, the campaign reportedly sent text messages to its supporters to come and fill empty seats.

Trump’s campaign Communications Director Tim Murtaugh claimed that the cancelation was due to the interference from the “racial protesters.”

“President Trump is rallying in Tulsa with thousands of energetic supporters, a stark contrast to the sleepy campaign being run by Joe Biden from his basement in Delaware,” Murtaugh said. “Sadly, protestors interfered with supporters, even blocking access to the metal detectors, which prevented people from entering the rally.”

“Radical protesters, coupled with a relentless onslaught from the media, attempted to frighten off the President’s supporters. We are proud of the thousands who stuck it out.”

Tulsa rally was supposed to be Trump’s grand opening for his November race, as Oklahoma is the deep-red state which he had won by 36 points four years ago.

Following the news, Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vermont) taunted Trump with his disappointing night in Tulsa.

“Trump had a bad night in Tulsa. Very low turnout. Even his supporters know that COVID-19 is real and dangerous, and should not be spread at an indoor rally,” he said. “More importantly, maybe people are catching on that he is a pathological liar and a fraud. Let’s keep fighting.”

Trump’s campaign had also revealed another bad news Saturday that six of its staffers have tested positive for COVID-19 and have been in quarantine ever since.
