In an interview with Tucker Carlson on Wednesday, Glenn Beck, a conservative commentator who hosts his own radio program, apologized for apologizing that he called former President Barack Obama a racist in 2009 on a Fox and Friends segment.
He said he only apologized 12 years ago because he said it was not right to call a president “racist” then. But now, he thinks it is “ok” since America has gone through the Trump era.
He said that he was thinking out loud at that time and admitted that he still believes that Obama is a “racist,” adding: “I was exactly right.”

It comes after Obama sat down with CNN’s Anderson Cooper for an interview that aired earlier this week. Obama told Cooper that Republicans are focusing on the wrong issues, especially with their concerns over Critical Race Theory
“There are certain right-wing media venues, for example, that monetize and capitalize on stoking fear and resentment of a white population that is witnessing a changing America and seeing demographic changes,” he said. “And do everything they can to give people a sense that the way of life is threatened and that people are trying to take advantage of them.”
Critical Race Theory originated from Harvard University. Four law professors – Derrick Bell, Roberto Unger, Duncan Kennedy and Morton Horwitz – came together in the 1970s, when many social critics realized that the anti-discrimination and racial integration policies, initiated through the Civil Rights Act of 1964, were not healing the nation effectively. They believed that politics and law in American society mainly benefitted the wealthy and privileged whites.
Beck has another viewpoint on the issue. He believes that those who support Critical Race Theory are themselves the racists. Beck believes that the idea behind the theory goes against what Martin Luther King Jr.stood for, which was not judging people by the “color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
