Two GOP Idaho lawmakers introduced a bill that would criminalize the use of mRNA vaccines in the state, which is the technology used in Covid-19 vaccines.
If passed, the state code of Idaho would be changed so that those administering mRNA vaccines would receive misdemeanor charges.
“Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a person may not provide or administer a vaccine developed using messenger ribonucleic acid technology for use in an individual or any other mammal in this state,” the bill states. “A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.”
The bill does not specify the Covid vaccine, but the GOP lawmakers referenced the two COVID-19 mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna, in their meeting with the committee. The senators say that they have issues with the vaccine being “fast-tracked.”
