Nancy Pelosi Calls For Study Of 25th Amendment To Remove Trump Due To Mental Incapacity
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hosted a weekly press conference to discuss her concerns about President Donald Trump‘s ability to lead the country after being treated for the coronavirus.
Pelosi insisted that the president is suffering a “disassociation from reality.”
She said, “Trump is, shall we say, in an altered state right now. The disassociation from reality would be funny if it weren’t so deadly.”
Pelosi’s comment came after Trump posted several tweets during his hospitalization which raised concerns over the president’s instability.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump boasted, “I’m back because I am a perfect physical specimen and I’m extremely young. And so I’m lucky in that way.”
The speaker poked fun at the president and responded with, “The plan isn’t for the president to say that he’s a perfect physical specimen. Specimen, maybe I can agree with that … And young, he said he was young.”
Trump responded in an angry tweet to Pelosi’s comment.
Pelosi announced that Democrats planned to study the 25th Amendment, which would allow for the removal of the president due to physical or mental incapacity.
A committee will be created to examine the amendment and “enable Congress to help ensure effective and uninterrupted leadership in the highest office in the Executive Branch of government.”
