Murdoch Admits He Didn’t Believe Trump’s 2020 Election Lies

Fox News Chairman Rupert Murdoch admitted in a deposition that he didn’t believe conspiracies surrounding the 2020 election.

Murdoch’s deposition was released as part of the lawsuit against Fox News by Dominion Voting Systems. The vote-machine operating company sued Fox for repeatedly spreading lies about the election, alleging the lies have done demonstrable harm to the company’s brand. Dominion claimed Fox hosts knowingly spread falsehoods purely to profit-seek.

Dominion is seeking $1.6 billion in damages from the media giant.

When asked if he knew Fox News endorsed election falsehoods, Murdoch responded, “Not Fox, no. Not Fox. But maybe Lou Dobbs, maybe Maria [Bartiromo] as commentators.”

“They endorsed,” he said. “I would have liked us to be stronger in denouncing it in hindsight.”

Fox lawyers have claimed the lawsuit revolves around media freedom, saying, “the core of this case remains about freedom of the press and freedom of speech.”

Text messages from popular Fox commentators like Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity allegedly display the private disbelief commentators had promoted the falsehoods from the Trump administration.

All three hosts broadcast election denial claims that they privately believed were false.

Sidney Powell is lying by the way. I caught her. It’s insane,” Carlson texted Ingraham on Nov. 18, 2020.

“Sidney is a complete nut. No one will work with her. Ditto with Rudy [Giuliani],” Ingraham responded.

Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to chide the conservative media tycoons, repeating lies around the 2020 election that have put Fox News in hot water.

“If Rupert Murdoch honestly believes that the Presidential Election of 2020, despite MASSIVE amounts of proof to the contrary, was not Rigged & Stollen, then he & his group of MAGA Hating Globalist RINOS should get out of the News Business as soon as possible, because they are aiding & abetting the DESTRUCTION OF AMERICA with FAKE NEWS,” Trump wrote.
