ABERDEEN, SCOTLAND - JULY 10: Donald Trump plays a round of golf after the opening of The Trump International Golf Links Course on July 10, 2012 in Balmedie, Scotland. A wave of public institutions and corporations have moved to formally cut ties with President Donald Trump in the wake of the riots in the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6.
Lehigh University and Wagner College have revoked Trump’s honorary degrees at their institutions and denounced his actions leading up to and during the Capitol riots.
Trump has also been permanently suspended from Twitter and banned from Facebook and Instagram at least until the end of his term. E-commerce companies like Shopify have formally severed transaction systems for online stores run by Trump organizations. Financial institutions like JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and Bank of America have suspended all PAC donations to Trump and Republican allies indefinitely.
Most painfully for golfer Trump, though, is likely the decision by the PGA, which has vowed to longer hold championships at any Trump golf clubs. The May 2022 championship tour scheduled at Trump’s Bedminster, New Jersey club will change venue.
