Mike Pence Suggests Possible 2024 Presidential Run During University Of Virginia Speech

Former Vice President Mike Pence teased a possible bid for the White House in 2024 during a speech last Tuesday at the University of Virginia.

“I’ll keep you posted,” he responded to a student who asked him if he was planning on running.

Pence previously said on Fox News last month that he was not ruling it out.

If Pence runs, he will likely be going up against former President Donald Trump, who he served under for four years. Trump, who has not officially announced his candidacy, has already implied that Pence will not be on the ticket should he decide to run again.

Pence and Trump clashed at the end of Trump’s administration after Pence refused to go along with a plan to decertify votes during the joint session of Congress that confirmed President Joe Biden‘s 2020 election win, as it was his job at the vice president to oversee the count.

During Pence’s speech, he also addressed the war in Ukraine, praising Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksy. He called on the audience to support humanitarian efforts and said that he believes the U.S. should send the country more military aid.

“Putin only understands strength and America must meet this moment with American strength,” he said of the Russian President.

He spoke of the Trump administration’s accomplishments and criticized the “woke” left.

“The antidote to cancel culture is freedom. The antidote to woke America is freedom … the truth is, every one of you must be prepared to stand on the ramparts of freedom in your life,” the former vice president said.
