Mike Pence Goes Full MAGA In RNC Speech, Says U.S. Would Be Unsafe Under Biden

Vice President Michael Pence accepted his nomination as President Donald Trump‘s running mate on Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention and gave a 40-minute speech at Baltimore’s Fort McHenry, attacking Joe Biden and calling for “law and order” amid the anti-racism protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Pence warned Americans that “Joe Biden would be nothing more than a Trojan horse for the radical left,” painting a picture of America engulfed in violence, “socialism and decline.”

“The hard truth is you won’t be safe in Joe Biden’s America,” Pence said.

His comments come in the midst of new anti-racism protests in Kenosha, sparked after a white police officer shot a black man, Jacob Blake. Pence condemned the protesters for violence and called in for “law and order,” echoing Trump’s rhetoric to forcefully clear out the demonstrators during the George Floyd protests in Minneapolis.

“Last week, Joe Biden didn’t say one word about the violence and chaos engulfing cities across this country, ” Pence said. “Let me be clear: the violence must stop – whether in Minneapolis, Portland or Kenosha.”

Pence did not mention the victim of the police violence in Kenosha, Blake, who is now hospitalized and paralyzed. He was shot in the back in his car, with his three children witnessing the scene. He also did not address the 17-year-old shooter who killed two people and seriously injured a third attending the protests.

The vice president falsely claimed Biden would defund the police, even though Biden said he did not support the idea.

After Pence’s address, Biden, who earlier spoke to Blake’s family in Wisconsin, shot back at the Trump administration and criticized Pence’s speech.

“The contrast tonight couldn’t be clearer: we can choose four more years of fear, division and hate,” Biden said “Or we can choose a different path – one of hope, unity and light. Let’s overcome this era of darkness, together.”
