Mike Bloomberg Considering Hillary Clinton As Running Mate, Matt Drudge Says

Matt Drudge, a news aggregator who’s most famous for breaking the Monica Lewinsky affair story with President Bill Clinton in 1998, broke yet another Clinton-related story; this time reporting that former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is considering Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as a running mate.

“Sources close to Bloomberg campaign tell DRUDGE REPORT that candidate is considering Hillary as running mate, after their polling found the Bloomberg-Clinton combination would be a formidable force…,” the tweet read.

Bloomberg’s office, however, downplayed the report. Jason Schechter, the campaign’s communications director, said in a statement, “We are focused on the primary and the debate, not VP speculation.” However, Bloomberg’s campaign didn’t outwardly deny the report.

The report also reported that Bloomberg was planning on changing his residency from New York, where both politicians reside, to “homes he owns” in Colorado or Florida, hinting at a greater possibility that both might be considering a run together. The 12th Amendment of the constitution requires that presidential and vice presidential candidates should be inhabitants of different states.

Conservatives took the news well, many of which believe the pairing would ensure a win for President Donald Trump’s reelection. “I can think of absolutely NOTHING that would make @realDonaldTrump and his supporters happier,” conservative commentator Candace Owens tweeted. “Do it, @HillaryClinton. Make our day.”

The story has yet to be confirmed by any sources, and without confirmation from Clinton or Bloomberg, it’s hard to say this story has any truth to it.
