Michigan Judge Dismisses Last Trump Challenge To 2020 Election Results

On Tuesday, Michigan Circuit Court Judge Kevin Elsenheimer dismissed one of the last challenges to the 2020 presidential election, ending former President Donald Trump‘s last efforts to overturn last year’s election.

The case Elsenheimer dismissed was brought by a voter from Antrim County who claimed that fraud had taken place in the November election.

The case was finally resolved Tuesday when Elsenheimer ruled that an audit Michigan secretary of state’s office conducted met the state law.

“By deciding this motion, the court is not saying that there were no problems in the way that Antrim County conducted its November 2020 elections,” Elsenheimer said during his ruling. “The clerk has admitted that there were challenges and problems in the elections, although the hand count ultimately of the presidential election showed results largely consistent with the canvass totals that were entered by the state and reported by the county.”

With this final decision, challengers of the election results, including Trump and GOP elected officials, have virtually lost all of their lawsuits in swing states.

However, several polls have shown that a majority of Republicans still don’t believe the last year’s election result was valid.
