Former First Lady Michelle Obama is set to release a new book titled The Light We Carry this fall.
The book is said to reflect her life as first lady with former President Barack Obama and how to navigate an increasingly chaotic world.
The book is a successor to her previous work released in 2018, Becoming. The memoir received a number of positive reviews from critics and readers.
Becoming set a record for the most books sold for any former first lady, selling an impressive 17 million copies worldwide.

“I’ve learned it’s okay to recognize that self-worth comes wrapped in vulnerability and that what we share as humans on this earth is the impulse to strive for better, always and no matter what,” the introduction read.
“We become bolder in brightness,” Obama continued. “If you know your light, you know yourself. You know your own story in an honest way. In my experience, this type of self-knowledge builds confidence, which in turn breeds calmness and an ability to maintain perspective, which leads, finally, to being able to connect meaningfully with others — and this to me is the bedrock of all things.”
Her book is set to be published by Random House. In a statement, the publishers said the publication would be released in 14 languages.
The initial printing of The Light We Carry will contain around 2.57 million copies.
