Manhattan DA Office Files Order To Silence Trump’s Social Media Posts

Manhattan prosecutors sought a protective order against former President Donald Trump – the order would silence Trump from releasing material to the public about his trial.

Trump’s legal team fought back against the order, according to a motion filed by the Manhattan DA’s office.

“The risk that this Defendant will use the Covered Materials inappropriately is substantial. Defendant has a long history of discussing his legal matters publicly—including by targeting witnesses, jurors, investigators, prosecutors, and judges with harassing, embarrassing, and threatening statements on social media and in other public forums—and he has already done so in this case,” the prosecutors wrote.

Trump was indicted last month on charges that he allegedly falsified business documents. The criminal indictment alleges that he misused campaign funds and falsely reported tax documents in his payments to then-attorney Michael Cohen.

Trump spent $130,000 in hush money to cover his alleged affair with adult film actor Stormy Daniels during the 2016 Presidential election.

Since his indictment, Trump consistently posted updates on his Truth Social account. He has ranted against the criminal proceedings, including posting a doctored photo of him seemingly hitting Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg with a baseball bat.
