Madison Cawthorn Threatens To Unleash ‘Dark MAGA’ Following Reelection Defeat

Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-North Carolina) issued a call for “Dark MAGA” following his loss to state Sen. Chuck Edwards (R-North Carolina) earlier this week.

“It’s time for the rise of the new right, it’s time for Dark MAGA to truly take command. We have an enemy to defeat, but we will never be able to defeat them until we defeat the cowardly and weak members of our own party. Their days are numbered. We are coming,” Cawthorn wrote in the caption of a Thursday Instagram post.

The photo posted with it included the names of who Cawthorn deems “America First Patriots,” or people who came to his defense when it wasn’t politically profitable.

Some of the names included FOX News Host Tucker Carlson, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz (R), Conservative activist Charlie Kirk and former President Donald Trump.

“These are honorable men and women who are the type of friends anyone yearns to have. ‘At the beginning of a change, the patriot is a rare and hated man.’ These are those rare and hated men/women. There are other National figures who I believe are patriots, but I am on a mission now to expose those who say and promise one thing yet legislate and work towards another, self-profiteering, globalist goal,” Cawthorn’s caption continued.

Cawthorn’s two years as a congressman have been marked with personal and political missteps. He tried to take a loaded gun through airport security on more than one occasion, called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a “thug,” was pulled over for driving with a revoked license and accused Washington colleagues of using cocaine and inviting him to orgies.
