Libertarian Presidential Candidate Jo Jorgensen Cancels Campaign Rally After Being Bitten By Bat

Libertarian presidential nominee Jo Jorgensen had to skip a campaign rally Jackson, Mississippi, scheduled on Saturday after being bit by a bat.

Due to the injury, Jorgensen tweeted that she will not only be attending the rally but also will need to get a vaccine shot for rabies.

“I will not be able to attend the campaign rally tomorrow morning,” Jorgensen tweeted Friday. “I will be getting a rabies vaccine as a precaution after having been bitten by a bat near the start of this campaign tour!”

Jorgensen, a professor at Clemson University in South Carolina, won the Libertarian Party’s nomination this May.

Her campaign followed the COVID-19 guidelines, asking attendees to wear masks, keep social distancing and stay home if they aren’t feeling well.

Despite the injuries, she maintained her sense of humor by replying, “I am not Batman” to a tweet that told her she should’ve been bitten by a radioactive spider instead, in order to gain superpowers.
