Major advertisers are dropping Fox News’ Laura Ingraham after she mocked #NeverAgain activist and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School senior David Hogg for his college rejections.
On Wednesday, Ingraham tweeted a Daily Wire article about Hogg’s college rejections and said he “whined about it.” She pointed out his University of California, Los Angeles rejection and 4.1 grade point average, saying it was “totally predictable given acceptance rates.”
Her tweets were immediately met with backlash, and Hogg quickly tweeted a list of Ingraham’s biggest sponsors and instructed his followers to contact the companies and tell them about the incident.

By Thursday, TripAdvisor, Nutrish, Wayfair, Nestle, Stitch Fix, Johnson & Johnson, Hulu and Twitter had all pulled their advertisements from Ingraham’s show in response to her comments, according to The New York Times. After losing advertisers, Ingraham tweeted an apology to Hogg.
“Any student should be proud of a 4.2 GPA —incl. @DavidHogg111. On reflection, in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland. For the record, I believe my show was the first to feature David … immediately after that horrific shooting and even noted how ‘poised’ he was given the tragedy. As always, he’s welcome to return to the show anytime for a productive discussion,” Ingraham wrote, linking a video of her show’s Parkland coverage.
Hogg dismissed the apology, saying it was only issued to save advertisers and therefore was not enough. He continued tweeting out more of Ingraham’s advertisers to his 663,000 followers.
“I will only accept your apology only if you denounce the way your network has treated my friends and I in this fight,” Hogg tweeted. “It’s time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children.”
