Larry Elder’s Ex-Fiancee, Alexandra Datig, Files Police Report Over Alleged Domestic Abuse

Larry Elder, a conservative radio host and the leading Republican gubernatorial candidate for California’s recall election, is being accused of domestic abuse by his former fiancee, Alexandra Datig. She said she decided to file a police report after hearing Elder denied her allegation and claimed that she is fabricated the story.

Datig claimed that she canceled her engagement with Elder because he pulled a loaded gun and brandished at her during their argument in 2015. She said that she decided to speak up despite the non-disclosure agreement she had with Elder.

Her report to LAPD shows a detailed description of Elder’s alleged gun incident.

“He was angry and exhibited hostility towards me in the form of silent scorn during our conversation,” Datig said in her statement. “He proceeded to open the drawer and reached inside for his .45 caliber revolver. Making sure the firearm was in my view, he opened the cylindrical, rotating part of the revolver checking to make sure the gun was loaded with cartridges. He proceeded to close the cylinder, again, making sure the firearm was in my view and then proceeded to put the firearm back in the drawer.”

Despite her report, Elder denied all of the allegations and claimed that she is fabricating an incident. 

“These are salacious allegations. People do not get into public life precisely because of this type of politics of personal destruction. I am not going to dignify this with a response—it’s beneath me,” Elder said in his statement after Datig filed her report.

Datig, however, didn’t back down saying “it’s time to draw the line.”

“I am not the one who has to come clean about my life. He is,” Dating told The Hill.

The California recall election to oust Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) will take place on September 14.
