According to a BUSR/UNLV Lee Business School poll released Monday, Lara Trump, President Donald Trump‘s daughter-in-law, is the favorite among North Carolina voters to win the 2022 Republican Party’s Senate primary.
If she wins, Lara would then face the Democratic nominee for the seat now held by Sen. Richard Burr (R-North Carolina), who is retiring.
Although it had a 7-point margin of error, poll results revealed that Lara, who is reportedly considering a Senate run, leads North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R), 24 percent to 23 percent.
Lara Trump and McCrory far outpaced Republican Rep. Mark Walker, the only major candidate to launch a campaign.
