Kayleigh McEnany, New White House Press Secretary, Under Fire For Downplaying Coronavirus Pandemic
New White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is under fire for downplaying the coronavirus pandemic and accusing Democrats of rooting for the virus in February and March.
In previous television and radio appearances, McEnany claimed that the Trump Administration had the coronavirus “under control” and that “we will not see diseases like the coronavirus come here” because of travel restrictions enacted by President Donald Trump.
She added that Democrats were “actively rooting against what’s in the best interest of America,” and that the virus was being used by his critics to take down the president.
McEnany, who used to be a CNN contributor during the 2016 campaign, will replace Stephanie Grisham as White House press secretary.
