Kari Lake Calls For Imprisoning Arizona Election Officials: ‘Burn It To The Ground’

After losing by more than 17,000 votes to Katie Hobbs, Kari Lake has doubled down on her identity as a “proud election-denying deplorable.” Lake called for the imprisonment of election officials in Maricopa County.

In a speech to a large crowd of young conservatives at Turning Point USA’s America Fest in Phoenix, Lake talked about her election loss. She continued to spread lies about a greater plot to steal the election from her – making a thinly veiled threat of violence against Arizona State government employees.

“They have built a house of cards here in Maricopa County,” she said. “I think they’re all wondering what I’m going to do. I’ll tell you what. I’m not just going to knock that house of cards over; we’re going to burn it to the ground.”

She also declared her pronouns are “I/won”.

Many of her claims were aimed at Maricopa county elections officials. The county had a few complaints of printing errors in the first hours of November 20 – fueling widespread conspiracies that the election was stolen.

“On Nov. 8, they committed highway robbery,” she told the crowd. “These people are crooks; they need to be locked up.”

The claims of voter fraud have been disproven. Lake’s claims have made some elections officials skeptical. One rural county missed their filing date for election certification at the behest of Lake.

“This allegation is false, and will be easily disproven by the County if necessary,” Maricopa County said in court filings.

Lake is contesting Hobb’s victory in court. She hopes to get her case heard in the U.S. Supreme Court.

“We’re going to kick this right up to the Supreme Court, and I will not stop fighting,” she said.

Hobbs was elected in a closely watched battle in the swing state. The governor-elect served as the state’s Secretary of State from 2013 to 2019.

Lake is a former TV news anchor and was supported strongly by former President Donald Trump.
