Another Steve Bannon request to delay his contempt of Congress trial was rejected by a judge on Thursday.
Bannon, who served as a White House strategist for the Trump administration, is scheduled to appear for his trial on Monday after dodging a House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack subpoena.
Earlier this week, Bannon announced he would testify in front of the committee following a letter from former President Donald Trump waiving his executive privilege. He said he would prefer to participate in a public hearing.
The Justice Department argued that Trump had never invoked executive privilege and that Bannon’s efforts to comply now don’t change the fact that he refused to cooperate with the committee for nine months.
