John Hickenlooper (D-Colorado), former governor of Colorado, will drop out of the 2020 Democratic presidential race on Thursday.
Hickenlooper struggled to gain support for his candidacy. and his advisors had urged him to drop out in July but he said he was going to give it another month.

Although Hickenlooper did well in the two Democratic debates, he struggled to gain supporters and polls never showed him in the double digit range. He has also lacked in his ability to gain substantial donations through fundraising. As a result, he was not set to qualify for the next round of debates in September.
