Joe Biden Plans To Continue Campaigning Virtually From Home

Former Vice President Joe Biden will continue to campaign from home amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden has been campaigning virtually from Wilmington, Delaware, throughout the pandemic. President Donald Trump, however, is planning to travel for his campaign despite warnings from public health experts of the spread of the coronavirus. This has caused concern for Democrats who are afraid his approach isn’t reaching enough voters.

Biden and his team, however, are not concerned.

Campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon told the AP, “Voters don’t give a s— about where he’s filming from. What they care about is what he’s saying and how we connect with them.”

Biden told ABC, “The idea that somehow we are being hurt by my keeping to the rules and following the instructions that (have) been put forward by doctors is absolutely bizarre.”

Critics, including former Obama Administration employees, have challenged the Biden campaign’s technology skills and are worried it will lose him votes.

Obama allies David Plouffe and David Axelrod wrote in the New York Times that Biden’s at-home studio looks like “an astronaut beaming back to earth from the International Space Station,” and encouraged Biden to make use of social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok.

Yvette Simpson, who leads the progressive group Democracy for America, said she was concerned about, “how we’re going to engage people,” and said Biden has wasted time in campaigning from home.
