Joe Biden Hints At 2020 Bid For Presidency

Joe Biden has been keeping himself busy since his departure from the Vice Presidency. In a series of new interviews promoting his memoir Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose, Biden has hinted at the possibility of a 2020 bid for the presidency.

“I haven’t decided to run,” he told InStyle magazine. “But I’ve decided I’m not going to decide not to run. We’ll see what happens. This moment in American history sort of fits into my wheelhouse and the strengths I have.”

The former vice president said that if his son Beau had not died that there was “no question” that he would have run in 2016. “I had planned on running, and I wasn’t running against Hillary or Bernie or anybody else. Honest to God, I thought that I was the best suited for the moment to be president,” he said.

Biden also gave his take on Hillary Clinton’s election disaster. “The sage political analysts would say she was probably on her way to a historic victory — the first woman to win the White House,” he said. “But she did not evince much joy at the prospect of running. I may have misread her entirely that morning, but she seemed to me like a person propelled by forces not entirely of her own making.”
