Jimmy Kimmel is waging an intense Twitter fight with Republican Alabama Senate nominee, Roy Moore. Kimmel recently sent comedian Tony Barbieri, best known for his appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as character “Jake Byrd,” to a rally Moore hosted at an Alabama church on Wednesday.
Moore, who has been accused of past sexual misconduct with teen girls, was angered by the stunt, and took to Twitter to address Kimmel. The Republican Senate nominee tweeted at Kimmel saying, “If you want to mock our Christian values, come down here to Alabama and do it man to man.”
In reply to this, Kimmel retorted, “Sounds great Roy – let me know when you get some Christian values and I’ll be there!”
Moore then tweeted again, addressing the TV show host, “Despite D.C. and Hollywood Elites’ bigotry towards southerners, Jimmy, we’ll save you a seat on the front pew.”
