Jared Kushner To Testify Voluntarily Before Jan. 6 Committee

Former President Donald Trump‘s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner is slated to voluntarily appear before the House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol attack this week, according to multiple sources.

He will most likely attend the meeting virtually.

On January 6, 2021, Kushner was flying back to Washington from Saudi Arabia. After landing, he did not go to the White House. There is no evidence that he was directly involved in the Capitol riot or any plan to overturn the 2020 election results.

As a senior adviser, Kushner was still a central figure within the administration. Earlier this week, texts between former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows and the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, Ginni Thomas were obtained by the select committee. In the texts, Ginni Thomas implicated Kushner by referencing an email she had written to “Jared.”

“Just forwarded to yr gmail an email I sent Jared this am,” the text said. “Sidney Powell & improved coordination now will help the cavalry come and Fraud exposed and America saved.”

The committee is also discussing seeking testimony from Ginni Thomas.

Trump’s daughter and senior adviser Ivanka Trump, who is married to Kushner, has also been in talks with the committee about volunteering to appear before them for an interview.
