The House select committee investigating last year’s January 6 Capitol attack subpoenaed documentary filmmaker Alex Holder, who worked on a project that included interviews with former President Donald Trump.
“We understand you have raw footage depicting the January 6th attack and of President Trump and others discussing the November 2020 presidential election results,” committee chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Mississippi) said in the subpoena.
The subpoena called on Holder to hand over any footage regarding “election fraud or election integrity,” and all interviews conducted with Trump, his adult children who served as advisers Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner or his Vice President Mike Pence from September 2020 to now.
Holder’s project, a three-part documentary series on the 2020 election titled Unprecedented, is expected to be released on an unnamed major streaming service this summer.

“As a British filmmaker, I had no agenda coming into this,” Holder said in a statement. “We simply wanted to better understand who the Trumps were and what motivated them to hold onto power so desperately. We have dutifully handed over all the materials the Committee has asked for and we are fully cooperating.”
Holder is expected to interview with the committee on Thursday.
