Trump White House counsel Pat Cipollone has agreed to a private interview with the House select committee that has been investigating last year’s January 6 Capitol attack for the past year on Wednesday morning.
Cipollone is expected to meet with the committee for a transcribed and videotaped interview on Friday in response to being subpoenaed last week.
“The Select Committee’s investigation has revealed evidence that Mr. Cipollone repeatedly raised legal and other concerns about President Trump’s activities on January 6 and in the days that preceded,” the subpoena read.
He previously met with the committee in April for an informal interview.

Cipollone came up in the public hearings when Cassidy Hutchinson, who was the former top aid to Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows, testified that he had urged Trump to tell his supporters not to go to the Capitol and warned staffers that they could be charged with crimes if Trump got involved at the Capitol. Cipollone’s account has been considered a missing piece of the committee’s investigation up until this point.
