Ivanka Trump Buys Property In Florida Sparking Speculation She’ll Run For Senate Against Marco Rubio

Ivanka Trump, soon to be ex-first daughter and senior aide to her father President Donald Trump, may be considering a run for Senate in Florida after she bought an expensive plot of land for a house with husband Jared Kushner.

The New York Post reported that the plot of land cost more than $30 million and is located on Miami’s Indian Creek Island, also known as “Billionaire’s Bunker.” There is speculation that this property will serve as their future home base, so Ivanka has access to a potential political career in the south.

White House observers have noted that Ivanka wants to jumpstart a political career of her own. She often compares herself to her father, but with more of a modern sensibility.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) is up for re-election in 2022, creating an opportunity for Ivanka to run against him. Although he was not a fan of Trump’s during the 2016 Republican nomination race, Rubio transformed into a rabid Trump supporter after he claimed victory in the 2016 election.

In an interview with CNN, Adam C. Smith, a former Tampa Bay Times political editor and now consultant with Mercury Public Affairs stated, “I think she’d be the immediate frontrunner if she ran for U.S. Senate against Rubio, given her father’s popularity in the Sunshine State.”
