Ivanka Trump Says She Got Her ‘Moral Compass’ From Her Father

At a Trump campaign fundraiser in August, Ivanka Trump told donors she got her “moral compass” from her dad, President Donald Trump.

In front of a group of around 120 high end donors, the first daughter and advisor to the president was asked about what personality traits she thinks she inherited most from her parents. The Ivanka said her mom, Ivana Trump, taught her how to be a woman of success and power. Then without skipping a beat, she told the crowd she inherited her moral compass from her father, according to what two attendees told Politico.

The fundraiser was organized by Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy as part of a retreat in the Wyoming mountains and moderated by ex-Entertainment Tonight host Mary Hart, even included a call in from the president that reportedly delighted guests.

“You have to have a draw to convince donors to write a $50,000 check to come to a fundraiser,” a White House advisor told Politico “The president and vice president are obviously a draw, and Melania Trump would be amazing, if she would do it,” adding that “The next best things are the kids. You have to fill the program with surrogates the donors want to see.”

This isn’t the first time Ivanka has publicly complimented her father in a surprising fashion. On Good Morning America in November 2018, she notably implied that there was no conflict of interest with her working in her father’s administration and that being a family member is actually an asset when it comes to her ability to be effective and candid as an advisor to the president.
