Infowars Host Owen Shroyer In Custody To Face Misdemeanor Charges Over Capitol Riot

Infowars host Owen Shroyer handed himself over to authorities on Monday morning and is now in custody over misdemeanor charges connected to his involvement in the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

Shroyer, host of the right-wing program The War Room With Owen Shroyer, revealed his charges, which include disorderly conduct and entering restricted Capitol grounds areas, on air Friday.

Shroyer also posted a video on Sunday, reiterating that he is “obviously completely innocent of the charges.”

“Quite frankly, I’m confused,” he said. “I’m confused at the allegations and the charges.”

Shroyer claims he was at the Capitol riots “as a journalist.” He believes there was “never any intent to disrupt anything.”

On Jan. 6, Shroyer was seen next to the Capitol inauguration stage, according to court documents. He claims did not enter the actual Capitol building.

Prior to the insurrection, Shroyer was outspoken about stopping the certification of the 2020 presidential election results.

The day before the Capitol riot, Shroyer said during an address at Freedom Plaza: “Americans are ready to fight. We’re not exactly sure what that’s going to look like perhaps in a couple of weeks if we can’t stop this certification of the fraudulent election… we are the new revolution! We are going to restore and we are going to save the republic!”
