How Jared Kushner Cut Ties With Trump After Election Loss

As Donald Trump‘s bid for a second term looked dimmer by the hour, Jared Kushner began to cut ties with Trump in secret after the 2020 election.

Not long after Trump said falsely on Election Night, “frankly, we did win this election,” Kushner began talking to his spouse, Ivanka Trump, about moving out of Washington.

“We’re moving to Miami,” Kushner said.

Even before it was declared that Joe Biden was the winner of the election, the couple knew which way the tide was turning.

Aides close to Ivanka and Kushner have said that the couple acknowledged that Trump lost the election.

After Kushner and Ivanka started to clear out of the White House, their absence allowed for right-wing conspiracy theorists to position themselves as close allies of Trump.

Kushner reportedly confined to personal aides that he would not participate as one of Trump’s top advisers if he were to enlist Rudy Guliani as his lawyer.

While Trump attempted to overturn the results of several counties, Kushner and Ivanka were already preparing to distance themselves from Trump’s efforts.

Kushner’s dealings with Saudi officials during his time as an advisor to Trump are also being examined by a congressional committee. It has been suggested that Kushner used his position to attain a $2 billion investment from the Saudi sovereign wealth fund.

Soon after the election, Kushner and Ivanka were quietly looking at properties to buy in Florida, wanting to escape the chaos that was unfolding in Washington. Eventually, they bought a $32 million home previously owned by the Spanish singer Julio Iglesias.

During his last few months in the White House, Kushner began working with Biden’s aides to prepare for the takeover of the government.w

On the day of the Capitol Riot, Kushner was ready to make his exit when he got a phone call from House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-California) about the unfolding events.

Kushner made attempts to heal relationships with Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence, but the former president’s fury with Pence has only grown in the last year.
