House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy Claims He Doesn’t Know What QAnon Is – Nor How To Pronounce It

On Wednesday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-California) claimed he did not know what QAnon is in a conversation with reporters regarding Majorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia).

“I think it would be helpful if you could hear exactly what she told all of us,” McCarthy said. “Denouncing Q-on, I don’t know if I say it right, I don’t even know what it is – any from the shootings, she said she knew nothing about lasers, all of the different things that have been brought up about her.”

QAnon is a conspiracy theory, some also refer to it as a cult, that falsely claims a Satanic, cannibalistic, pedophilic political clique is plotting against former United States President Donald Trump.

Though McCarthy claims to have no prior knowledge of what QAnon is, he made a statement about QAnon in an interview with Fox News’ Shannon Bream. “Let me be very clear,” he said. “There is no place for QAnon in the Republican Party. I do not support it and the candidate you talked about has denounced it.”

Additionally, McCarthy is quoted as stating that there is “no place for QAnon in the Republican Party” when discussing Marjorie Taylor Greene’s run for Congress in a Fox News interview last August.
