A new report by House GOP members accused President Joe Biden of impeachable conduct but so far has failed to gain any traction with moderates in the party.
In the 291-page report released last, the Oversight, Judiciary and Ways and Means Committee accused Biden of abuse of power and obstruction.
This report comes eight months after Republicans began formalizing their impeachment attempt against Biden. It primarily focuses on business deals made by the Biden family, specifically the president’s son, Hunter, and brother, James.
The report charges the president with abuse of power and obstruction, which match the charges brought against former President Donald Trump in 2019.

The report reads, “The Constitution’s remedy for a President’s flagrant abuse of office is clear: impeachment by the House of Representatives and removal by the Senate,” then continues that they are releasing the report to the House “for its evaluation and consideration of appropriate next steps.”
The investigators claimed they had traced $27 million in payments to the Bidens from foreign entities and that Hunter and James would use their name or lean on the president’s presence to make deals.
Some members of the Judiciary Committee have pushed for a public hearing against Biden, but Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has yet to confirm a public hearing.
The GOP is currently dozens of votes short to impeach the president. Democrats have considered the report a victory because it does not directly recommend impeachment articles.
Sharon Yang, a White House spokesperson, spoke of the report and called it a failed stunt.
“After wasting nearly two years and millions of taxpayer dollars, House Republicans have finally given up on their wild goose chase. This failed stunt will only be remembered for how it became an embarrassment that their own members distanced themselves from as they only managed to turn up evidence that refuted their false and baseless conspiracy theories,” Yang said.
