Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to launch a tour to key battleground states alongside her running mate, who is yet to be declared, next week.
Harris and her running mate will visit seven critical battleground states next week as the tour begins. The tour will take the pair to western Wisconsin, Detroit, Michigan, Raleigh, North Carolina, Savannah, Georgia, Phoenix and Las Vegas.
The Harris campaign said that the pair will “crisscross the country together to campaign to the voters who will decide this election.”
A recent Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll showed that former President Donald Trump has lost his lead in critical battleground states. The poll reported that 48% of battleground state voters backed Harris, and 47% of battleground state voters backed Trump.

Harris, who became the presumptive nominee after President Joe Biden (D) dropped from the race and endorsed her, has not announced her running mate but there is speculation that the announcement will come before next Wednesday.
Numerous names have been floated as potential running mate picks for Harris. The list includes Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D), Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), Arizona Sen Mark Kelly (D), Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
Harris’s V.P. pick may impact her success with battleground states, especially if she chooses a candidate from a battleground state.
The Democratic National Committee expects Harris to select her running mate before Aug. 7. She is expected to become the official Democratic nominee when Democrats complete a virtual roll-call vote. The Democratic National Convention will take place from Aug. 19 to Aug. 22 in Chicago.
