Harris Sets Record With $310 Million In July Donations, Receives Nearly Twice Trump’s Haul

In an announcement on Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign revealed the results of their fundraising efforts during the month of July: $310 million.

Their fundraising efforts bring the total amount of cash on hand to $377 million, marking a tremendous change among Democratic supporters and grassroots efforts following President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the race and endorse Harris.

The VP announced her intention to seek the Democratic presidential nomination following her endorsement from many top party members. This week it was determined that Harris had enough delegates to secure the nomination, marking the first time a woman of color is at the top of a national ticket.

Her campaign’s fundraising efforts have broken records, with $310 million being the most successful grassroots fundraising month in presidential history. Following Harris’ announcement that she would be entering the presidential race, $200 million was raised in a single week. Of the donors, 66%, or over two million, were first-timers.

Harris campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez explained: “This is a history-making haul for a candidate who will make history this November. The tremendous outpouring of support we’ve seen in just a short time makes clear the Harris coalition is mobilized, growing, and ready to put in the work to defeat Trump this November.” She also commented that the donations are “going to the work that wins close elections.”

Former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has also made significant strides in its fundraising efforts, raising almost $139 million throughout the month of July. The campaign announced that it has $327 million on hand.

The Biden-turned-Harris campaign announced on Friday that since the launch of the Biden campaign in April 2023, they have raised $1 billion. Biden handed the money raised from his campaign over to Harris’s campaign upon his resignation from the race, a move Trump is now challenging in court.
