A new poll shows that Vice President Kamala Harris (D) has a lead or is tied with former President Donald Trump in six of seven battleground states.
The Cook Political Report Swing State Project shows that Harris has an overall one-point lead over Trump, looking at Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Across all seven battleground states, Harris has 48% support, and Trump has 47% support. Five percent of participants said they would not vote or were unsure.
The last Swing State Project was completed in May when President Joe Biden (D) was the presumptive Democratic nominee. Since then, Harris has gained momentum in numerous battleground states.

Trump’s only lead is in Nevada, but the margin is smaller than in May when he led Biden by six points.
In matchups between the two candidates, Harris has a three-point lead over Trump in Wisconsin and Michigan. The May poll showed that Trump had a two-point lead over Biden in Michigan, and they were tied in Wisconsin.
Harris also has a two-point lead in an Arizona matchup, while Trump had a one-point lead against Biden in May.
A North Carolina matchup also shows Harris leading, overcoming the seven-point lead Trump had in the state in May.
In Pennsylvania, Harris has a one-point lead. In May, Trump had a three-point lead over Biden.
The two major candidates are tied in Georgia with 48% of support. In May, Trump was leading the state by three-points.
When including third-party candidates, Harris has a four-point lead in Arizona and five-point lead in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Overall, she has a two-point lead in the seven battleground states when third party candidates were included. The poll showed Robert F. Kennedy having five percent support.
The poll has 2,867 participants in the seven battleground states and was conducted from July 26 to Aug. 2.
