Goya Foods CEO Robert Unanue spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Sunday falsely claiming that former President Donald Trump is the “actual President of the United States.”
On the CPAC stage in Orlando, Florida Unanue said, “It’s just an honor to be here. But my biggest honor today is gonna be that – I think we’re gonna be on the same stage – as, in my opinion, the real, the legitimate, and the still actual president of the United States, Donald J. Trump.”
Since the 2020 presidential election, Unanue has been openly skeptical of the results and spread several conspiracy theories about the election. After a Fox Business interview in January where Unanue called the 2020 presidential election “unverified” and warned “there is a war coming,” Goya’s board of investors restricted Unanue’s ability to speak to news media without board approval.

“But we still have faith that the majority of the people of the United States voted for the president,” Unanue continued in his speech Sunday. “I think a great majority of the people in the United States voted for President Trump, and even a few Democrats.”
The Department of Justice, the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, The U.S. Election Assistance Commission have all agreed that there were no voting irregularities or widespread fraud by states or at the federal level in the 2020 presidential election.
