Gov. Ron DeSantis Vows To Continue Sending Migrants To Blue States

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) got major blowback after sending 50 Venezuelan migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., under false pretenses last week.

But the DeSantis has doubled down on his controversial move and promised to send more migrants around the country, in particular to Democratic states and cities.

“These are just the beginning efforts,” DeSantis said at a news conference in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Recently, the Florida governor tried to send migrants to an airport in Delaware, close in proximity to President Joe Biden’s summer home.

The trolling mirrors that by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) who moved migrants from Texas to New York City, as well as other Democratically run cities. Abbott recently sent two busloads of immigrants to Vice President Kamala Harris’s (D) residence in Washington D.C.

Lawsuits have been filed against DeSantis for allegedly hiring workers who lyied to the migrants about where they were being sent.

The lawsuit claims that the migrants were told they were to arrive in Boston or Washington and lured with $10 McDonald’s gift cards.

Representing the migrants is the group Lawyers for Civil Rights.

President of the League of United Latin American Citizens, Domingo Garcia, said in a statement that the new arrivals were all given folders full of fake documents which promised housing and jobs.

The 50 migrants sent to Martha’s Vineyard have since been relocated to a military base in Cape Cod where they are receiving healthcare, clothing, food and shelter.

President Joe Biden condemned the move by DeSantis, calling it “playing politics with human beings” adding also that they were used as props.
