On Saturday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-New York) was questioned over sexual harassment allegations made against him in the probe being led by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
The investigation could significantly impact the impeachment proceedings against him in the state legislature.
James appointed former Manhattan U.S. Attorney Joon Kim and lawyer Anne Clark to lead the independent investigation, which was a part of an agreement with Cuomo. James will compile a report about the investigation findings around the end of the summer.
Numerous women, mostly his former aides, have accused the governor of sexual misconduct like unwanted kisses, groping and inappropriate sexual comments. The first allegation came out last year December when his former aide Lindsey Boylan reported alleged misconduct.

“Yes [Andrew Cuomo] sexually harassed me for years. Many saw it, and watched,” Boylan tweeted back in December.
“I could never anticipate what to expect: would I be grilled on my work (which was very good) or harassed about my looks. Or would it be both in the same conversation? This was the way for years.”
Cuomo apologized and claimed he learned a lesson and would fully comply with the probe. He continued to deny his wrongdoing, claiming that it was never his intention to act inappropriately.
Aside from James’ probe, federal investigators are also looking into the nursing homes in New York during the beginning of the pandemic and the allegation that Cuomo tried to hide the number of deaths at the homes. Investigators will also probe the lucrative deal for his autobiography.
Cuomo’s campaign has reportedly spent $285,000 in legal expenses to a law firm as he faces the sexual harassment allegations.
