GOP Rep. Mike Flood Admits He Didn’t Read Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful’ Budget Bill Before Voting For It, Jeered At Town Hall
Rep. Mike Flood (R-Nebraska) was ruthlessly attacked at a town hall after admitting he did not completely read through President Donald Trump‘s “Big Beautiful Bill” before voting for it.
In response to a question from a member of the audience, Flood said he did not agree with one of the bill’s provisions that would make it more difficult for judges to hold political parties accountable for defying court orders.
“I support our court system, and I do believe that the federal district courts, when issuing an injunction, should have legal effect,” said Flood when asked about the provision.
“This provision was unknown to me when I voted for the bill,” he added, which immediately sparked an uproar from the crowd.

This is another instance of a Republican member of Congress dealing with brutal crowds at town halls since the start of President Trump’s second term.
Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-Iowa) faced a vocal and at times hostile crowd in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District, drawing prolonged boos as she expressed support for Trump and his administration.
“The president is, I believe, fighting for you and fighting for me,” said Hinson in her opening remarks. The displeased crowd responded with a series of boos.
Hinson’s opening speech had to be paused due to the unrelenting jeers from the crowd after she promoted her vote in favor of President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.”
The negative crowd reactions continued into the question-and-answer portion of the town hall. Hinson was bombarded with a disgruntled crowd who laughed or booed every time she promoted her support for Trump.
“I’m here answering your questions in public because I care about transparency and accountability and doing things the right way,” she added, later telling the man who asked the question: “I’m answering your question. You may not like my answer, and that’s your right to not like my answer.”
At one point, the crowd began to shout “fraud” at Hinson as her answers remained supportive of the current administration’s actions.
