George W. Bush Says Election Results ‘Are Clear’ & Congratulates ‘Good Man’ Biden On Win
Former President George W. Bush congratulated President-elect Joe Biden over the phone on Sunday.
He said Biden’s victory and the election’s results were “fundamentally fair” and “its outcomes are clear.”
“Though we have political differences, I know Joe Biden to be a good man, who has won his opportunity to lead and unify our country,” Bush commented. “The President-elect reiterated that while he ran as a Democrat, he will govern for all Americans. I offered him the same thing I offered Presidents Trump and Obama: my prayers for his success, and my pledge to help in any way I can.”
The former president acknowledged President Donald Trump‘s efforts and a “hard-fought campaign.” More than 70 million votes were cast for Trump which was the second largest number of votes for a candidate in U.S. history but fell far behind Biden’s 74 million and counting.

Bush asserted that Trump had the right to request a recount and pursue legal action but noted that it would not change the election outcome.
