A Delaware judge sanctioned Fox News after the media network failed to turn in several documents in the $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit launched by Dominion Voting Systems. The judge scolded lawyers for the network just days before the case was set to go to trial.
Dominion Voting Systems, an electronic ballot producer, is suing Fox News for $1.6 billion after the network repeatedly aired false claims that questioned the company’s security systems.
The sanctions result from a document release from former Fox producer Abby Grossberg. Grossberg, a former producer for Tucker Carlson and Maria Bartiromo, handed over recordings of network conversations with Trump aids.
Grossberg is suing the network for gender-based harassment and alleges that she was pressured to give false testimony. She was fired from Fox earlier this year.

She originally testified that she was not responsible for fact-checking at the network.
“I made the decision to keep my job so that I can keep paying my bills. It seemed like the safer decision for me at the time,” she said in her testimony.
With the new recordings, the judge ordered Fox News’ lawyers to hand over all future communications with network personalities. The sanctions leave the network susceptible to another round of investigations.
